I like the idea of having not only a shouldermon but a Pokemon with an insane amount of merch and representation in Pokemon media as I've liked obscure characters before and it can honestly get taxing being thirsty for content of those characters, so liking a popularmon is just nice.
Also I love how anime Meowth shits all over the divide between humans and Pokemon, doing absolutely everything humans do and being so good at it that even humans fail to recognize him as a pokemon. I also love have Meowth in the games is a great treasure finder having pick-up, access to Thief, Payday, and being the design inspiration for the Amulet Coin. They literally just want to give you free shit
