It's the insistence on referring to them by the full title of "first partner" even in a context where they objectively CANNOT be your "first partner" that's retarded, such as Indigo Disk's trailer featuring past starters, the DLC where you'll have been required to obtain at least THREE Pokemon bare minimum before then (your ACTUAL first partner, Koraidon/Miraidon and Ogerpon).
