Why are steel-type Pokémon resistant to psychic attacks, are they made of non-bendable metal or some shit

Because in real life, there's the trope of magicians bending stuff with metal, but the Pokemon world is now full of subversive propaganda, such as Ogerpon symbolizing the globalist and communist Oomoto religion. Modern Gamefreak hates Japan, and they want Japanese culture destroyed, and one way to do this is by having steel resist psychic.

Because GameFreak hates psychic-type. People bullied them about making that type OP in Gen 1 and it hurt them psychologically so now Psychic has to be shit forever.
