also I told my brother that rejuvenation was updated a while back when I told him that Jan revamped the whole game again he wasn’t interested in playing it anymore. he broke free

probably the last bit of content i'll show for this game. apparently you can go catch the main void legendary at the nazi volcano base, and there's also another legendary called Hygrensis. dialga, palkia and giratina are also...somewhere. i guess arceus Himself decided this game was not worth his time (same tee bee haytch)

It didn't really, since the BW anime was so fucking bad nobody went into the league with any hopes to begin with. People got more mad at him needing to battle Roxie 6-on-3 and still almost losing.

this game is a mess.

if it's not obvious by the images, the presentation for this game is really fucking good.
a lot of unique tilesets, assets, really cool looking areas. it was very similar to empyrean's late game i felt in trying to portray this cyberpunk fascist dystopia, except actually better. the portrait designs, while not as refined, were also decent and i like seeing the effort even if it's just something you see for a few seconds.
the soundtrack is excellent. i see an argument for this being potentially the best fangame soundtrack period.
the fakemon designs were also good. some were definitely more shitposty than others, but i can't think of one that just really outright looked bad.

you can really tell this was made by someone with a lot of passion over 5.5 years, but...

it was made by just one person with a LOT of really shit ideas.

the story, and setting of this are just a disaster. nothing is ever really explained to the player until AFTER the main plot is finished, so you just get this feeling of getting nonstop jerked around and just going to new places because that's the next stop on the railroad. the villains are this completely invincible and all powerful omniscient nazi regime, until they just somehow lose at the end because...they just do okay. the Void, gets brought up like, twice, despite being the central element of the plot.

the characters are also just terrible. there's way too many, again, and most of them do nothing or have nothing memorable, or are cunts. i know it's our thing to meme about the hot girls being the only likable characters, but i'm not kidding when i say the tomboy is literally the only one who gets anything resembling a character (other than chad)
tyrone, who's supposed to be a rival, shows up like, three times, over the whole fucking game. chad barely shows up more than that, and the game jerking off chad despite me beating him multiple times is just hilariously shit writing.

the gameplay is where this really falls apart.

there's a lot of really fucking shitty ideas, several i didn't bring up over the course of the playthrough. level scaling, tripling repel prices, the revives in battle, no fly until end-postgame, several times when door positions to the next area weren't obvious, the stupid fucking void type being just a shittier to deal with version of nuclear. some of the absolutely fucking awful sequences in this game, some of the worst in ANY fangame.
these were all so fucking bad that i actually kind of stopped seething about the game's shit performance or the multiple bugs, like F12 crashing the game.

this game was something the 'creator wanted to play' and that he was the only playtester, and it shows. this game has a very real issue with trying to communicate to the player. sure, if you're the dev, you know how X works, that doesn't mean the player will.

the exploding pufferfish parts? apparently, there was a pokemon, a rare pokemon as i never saw it when i didn't have repels, called bombardeer, found on one route in the game sometime after the 4th badge, who blocks all epxlosion moves (which i wouldn't even know about unless i'd catch it).

the shadow chase scene? apparently, even though there's a custom message where the shadow 'catches up to you' when you try to run, it IS possible to run, it's just very difficult, so you didn't need to do it all in one go like i did.

i get that sometimes people will like how things are designed at a certain difficulty that others may not appreciate, and that obscure mechanics and such don't necessarily have to be a dealbreaker, but when you're grappling with retarded mechanics that aren't explained well or done in a way that screws me over consistently to the point where it becomes miserable for a good portion of players (like Fe = Iron, and a LOT of the people in the PC thread) i think you have a shit game on your hands.

finally, is this like the worst thing ever given the Empireshill says this is the worst game he's ever played? definitely not, and if you were to ask me right now, i would probably say empire is still worse (and this game is done while empire is halfway through). empire just overstays it's welcome significantly more and has just a lot more shittiness, even if it didn't reach the heights of the shadow chase fuckery.

it's not terribly out of empire's league though. i'd still give this a 3/10, just not a 'low' 3 like empire or vanguard were. hopefully the creator moved on to much better projects but holy fuck

given how similar this game is to Uranium, especially with the limited dex and the not-nuclear type, i wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of Urmumium mod done on it by demice or someone similar and we end up revisiting it kek

Coomermarine city is divided into two parts by this long grassy strip. You don't actually traverse the strip instead an NPC inside the house will just warp you to the other side. It's a bit strange.

Even if the game put a giant neon sign explaining you're going to get shit on without this mon, it's still shit design for a pokemon game forcing you to take a single species to navigate a large recurring section of the overworld. People complain about an HM taking up 1/24th of their team per HM but this effectively is a Flash HM (you can make it through without it, but it's very unpleasant) that uses an entire teamslot while not even adding the atmospheric value of feeling like you're exploring shit with your mons like HMs were supposed to invoke using them out of combat.

i really don't get it, all he had to do was put an NPC going "hm, those exploding fish the nazis are using are pretty tough to deal with...maybe there's a pokemon on this route that can help?" and it wouldn't have been great but at least it would have been something

I forgot Uranium. It's been a very long time since I played it, but I think I'd put that in low C-tier off memory and I'd want to replay it before committing to a spot for it. I remember it basically being Steel Type Simulator for most of the game because Nuclear is a really dumb type, but it did introduce a lot of interesting ideas. I wasn't very big on most of the fakemon designs in it, but it had some standouts I enjoyed.

It's not entirely EoE, just mostly. The end game in general is pretty good if you like figuring things out that the game intentionally tries to keep from you. EoE adds even more along with some really nice rewards, the main issue is that a lot of those items you don't become aware of until you get them. Just ignore the T*w*rs and it's pretty fun.

Makes sense. I know there's some stuff in the postgame that would make a lot of the normie-right types vibrate in regards to a certain painter, so I don't really gauge clover's brand of chuddiness along a left/right paradigm of if someone will enjoy its brand of shitposting.

Yes. Mainly the AI quality. It's not quite as good as Clover's lategame boss AI (used by Stump, E4, Champ, Ebin leaders, Shadow Council, Vyglass), but it blew me away at the time with what was possible for an AI opponent to anticipate in a romhack and scratched my competitive itch without the normal smogonfaggotry. Coupled with all of the QoL features it's a difficulty hack that wants the player to actually play it, experiment with its systems, and innovate rather the punishing the player from stepping outside of a very narrow developer-approved way to play like many other kaizo hacks (or hardmodes in rebornlikes tend to).
Objectively it's probably a tier or two lower, but it was exactly what I was looking for at the time I played it and I enjoyed my time with it overall.

Pretty much kek. Even considering dualtypes, I think I got probably the worst one possible with Dragon/Ice
I know Lime breezed through most of Detergent mode without TOO much difficulty, especially after he unlocked Speed Swap kek
Dragon/Ice just had fuckall, especially earlygame, and I think the most I could do to put things in my favor was generally Hail+Slush Rush Aurorus and Berserker Sash Weavile in mid/lategame
iirc Low designed Detergent with Mono Delta in mind, so it'd definitely be more manageable then, I'd assume

When I played it I found nothing of note throughout besides the baffling choice to start the player with a peudo legendary that can solo the game, and the gym gimmicks that are mostly just annoying. The story was also bad and extremely boring.

If it was just this map? Sure, I could see my hate for this shit game to be a bit much, but it's not just this map. There's far more examples of dogshit mappinng that only serves to waste the player's time, and I don't feel like going into RPG maker and screening and stitching them all. You could randomly pick one map out of the ~350 and chances are it could have it's size cut in half or more and nothing would be lost. For example, could you honestly say this 200x200 tile map is fine and doesn't waste the player's time? That cutting it's size by about 70+% would ruin the point of the map? And this is just talking about the mapping itself, mind you.

The unholy amounts of trainerspam also contributes to the dogshit mapping. After about 60% into Season 1, every single trainer has 6 Pokemon, and there's usually 10-20 trainers per "dungeon", usually more. And after Season 2, nearly every single trainer is paired up with another trainer, so you have to constantly fight 6v12s for probably the last ~80% of the game. And since you're probably jumping to the le difficulty bullshit again, no, they're not hard. They just serve to make you waste your time, in already retardedly huge maps in a ""game"" that never hands you the running shoes.

This is obviously building towards a final climax, just like Mt. Silver built towards Red being the final boss. Mapmaking also plays a huge part in the story, but if you're playing the game just to finish it you won't notice.

The path to Red in Mt. Silver is actually incredibly straightfoward. The only person who requires a labyrinth to get to in gen 2 are the Karate King (and Lugia and Hohoh.) Red though is a straight shot if you ignore all the side areas.

Almost every Team Flare grunt is optional as the entire cast of Kalos "helps" you get through. Even though they're just standing surrounded by grunts with no real impact on the gameplay, I'm a sucker for scenes like this in games. It'd be more impactful if this game put more work into fleshing out party members, character interactions, and rivalries throughout each arc though.

Unbound is just ok. It's serviceable but probably spends a bit too much time wanking about all the cool shit CFRU can do with the gym gimmicks or new mechanics than actually making a fun game.
Also a lot of the sidequests in the game, and some of the design decisions like restricting the DexNav behind a dex check in the 3rd gym town, are just really bad.

The easiest way to describe it is Dark Souls x Pokemon. You get dropped onto an island with the goal of overcoming Gwy-I mean the champion, you explore the island to beat the major bosses and build up your strength to do so.
Has a great atmosphere, great sense of progression, great exploration, very satisfying gameplay loop (forgive the reddit term), etc. The only reservations I'd have for recommending is if you were more a fan of story-heavy games with unique sprites/tilesets.

The problem isn't even that it's a difficulty hack, because it's not really a difficulty hack in the same way that something like Radical Red is. I think even RR Hardcore on the newest version has been pretty reliably beaten by every monotype, even ignoring the game definitely caters to monotype runners, it says a lot about the flexibility to strategy and what you can do for each fight in that game.

The kaizoshit mods I put in that section have such a ridiculously low margin for error that not only can you just not get bad RNG, but you also have to be very hyperspecific with the teams you bring to those fights.

In some ways you could even argue it's easier than a game that allows for more flexibility just because the way you approach fights in the kaizoshart mods always just boils down to "how do I counterteam this new boss using the QOL given to me and how long do I need to bash my head against it before I win" and that's it, instead of maybe having you try to work with more limited resources or think on your feet. There's a few fights that aren't like that, but they're usually towards the end and after the ridiculous slog that is any of those mods

I did some bullshit for this one. shedninja uses phantom force and hopes tyranitar doesn't use earthquake, then kills gigalith with destiny bond. lucky for me, that shadow meowth from the very beginning of the game learns destiny bond when you purify it, which takes out the crested rampardos. ursaring uses thrash to take out kleevor who missed its head smash, and then it killed the aerodayctl as well. marshmadness used it's magical seed that normalized it and cleaned up kabutops. I got really angry because I didn't know roar was negative prioritized, so I thought tyranitar was outspeeding a 200+ persian and I turned on debug kek

From what i've seen of that guy (he's present in too many of servers) he's a compulsive grinder. If the game gave him a window where he can grind one more level by only gaining 1% every time, he would still grind that level before moving to the next content.
He has once grinded to level 100 before gym 2 in insurgence.and his save files has 7700 hours.
And Void renders his "habit" useless because no matter how much you grind it won't matter since due to the scaling the opponents will still be a little ahead of you.
