>>55702018>>55702061I used to feel this way and only would use 8x speed and rush through the game. My mindset was that I can play more roms/runs if I go faster. More is better right? The problem is that artificially speeding something up doesn't allow you to absorb the moment, there is no moment really. Also, I would need to have the music turned off because it sounds awful sped up. So it's a different experience entirely.
I realized that some of these issues were bothering me so I then switched down to 4x speed and would even play normal speed for gym and rival battles (and actually play with sound for those).
I just recently took the normal speed pill and I am enjoying my runs way more. Just chilling in the game without needing to set arbitrary goals of completing X runs/week or whatever. I still use the speed up function if I need to grind a pokemon or something. Or if I need to backtrack somewhere kinda far or I missed something and have to go back. It's way more comfy to take the runs slower than constantly speeding through.
