>>55707990Play any game that interests you. I'd say avoid the original RBY (Red, Blue, Yellow) and GSC (Gold, Silver, Crystal) due to differences in battle mechanics but that's up to you. Game choice is entirely based on preference. As for remakes, FireRed/LeafGreen are meant to be "replacements" for RBY (can't trade Gameboy Pokemon to GBA), HeartGold/SoulSilver are similar to FR/LG but for GSC but also add many new features to the game, OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire are more like retellings of Ruby/Sapphire, and BrilliantDiamond/ShiningPearl are... more like upscaled ports to Diamond and Pearl. Another thing to note is game versions themselves; duos have minor differences beyond exclusive Pokemon but a couple games have different locations and NPCs. It's worth noting that Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon are "third version" titles which add new features to original duo versions and more Pokemon to collect in-game. Black 2/White 2 are also considered third versions but are also sequels to the main story of Black/White.
