Poliwrath is the best Pokemon.
He's the only Pokemon that has looked great in EVERY game he's been in, even the original Japanese Red and Green.
He had the coolest unique type - Water/Fighting, and he kept this unique typing until the nugen games went full retard with a gay duck.
Poliwhirl is already a great design, but he looks a bit dopey. So Game Freak went "hey, we can make a cooler version of this design" and hey presto, Poliwrath is here to fuck your shit up.

The only contenders for his throne are Blastoise and Lapras. However, Blastoise doesn't have a cool dual type combo, and Lapras was made to a bit babyish by the anime.
