TPCi already knows the existence of the website and are intentionally keeping it
They cant take it down because apparently, the team at smogon have a special deal with TPCi that they can run showdown as long as 1: they dont gain any money from it, 2: they dont add shit that gamefreak/TPCi wouldnt like in their showdown website and 3: allow VGC games to be played in their website
They know that if they took it down, they would make not only smogon players angry, but a tons of VGC players angry too because the website is a good VGC training ground
The ONLY logical reason why they would take it down is if TPCi makes their own battle simulator. I would even go as far as to say that they have the same special relation with TPCi than with Serebii
