It's also worth noting they wanted an *actual* Mega Greninja, only to be laughed out he doors by Game Freak and told "you'll get what we give you" which then got retconned out the series because Game Freak weren't keeping arsepull around when they could just give him an *actual* Mega Evolution (still think he should have rocked a M-Herracross, but whatevs).
And sorry to say, Greninja existed before they made an ash fursuit of it. the only time the anime wanted to do something before Game Freak was when the tranny ran things.
