>>55751391>>55751403the reason gen 6 is considered the start of nu-pokemon is because of the excessive kanto pandering and the start of gimmicks as well as XY themselves being not that good. but the games are a lot worse now, and for different reasons, so XY isn't as clear a herald of the end times as it was back in the day. it doesn't have the overbearing cutscenes of SM, the dexcut and dogshit open world of SS, the laziness of BDSP, or the bugs of SV. so i think that's where the recent confusion comes from.
