>>55757069Let me explain because I have very well thought out opinions about both of those games.
>what's so good about Sword/Shield?This game really felt like it delivered a complete Pokemon experience minus one really big thing that really isn't much of a problem for me since I play other games in the series that retroactively do not have all of the Pokemon in them. I enjoyed Restricted Sparring and Endless Dynamax Adventures because they actually found a way to make two facilities that used the generational gimmick in a great way. Additionally, for people that do not inject it was extremely easy to get competitive ready Pokemon (minus 0 Speed IV hard TR teams) and because of PokeJobs which was just Pelago but better, I have over 400 Pokemon in HOME that are at level 100, many of which are fully trained. The Battle Tower was a good introduction to competitive for new players, kind of like an on ramp to the metas, and during its lifetime of support it had great events and Battle Competitions. I especially liked the ability to create Battle Competitions over ad hoc connections locally, as I used to help run a club which used this feature. I liked the additions of marks to make shiny hunting much more complicated since shinies were getting overall easier to get, and the title system let me flaunt my transferred in Pokemon.
>why do you think Crystal is below Silver/Gold?I don't really like the additions of Crystal and had the mobile adapter GB been something we could use, I would wager it is worth it. I see Crystal occasionally posted as the best gen 2 experience, but I got a lot more out of Silver with Stadium 2 than I ever did with Crystal and the Battle Tower. Plus the Battle Tower in this gen isn't really that interesting and sort of feels like you are just treading water with no overall goal with the exception of the reward at the end. Hoenn's Battle Tower feels much better. The other Crystal additions and changes I feel I could really just take or leave.
