A Ukrine region is more likely IMHO as it's still eastern slavic and also more homegeneous culturally (basically just Ukarianian and Tatars rather than the ethnic melting pot that russia is)
Smaller than russia with a real access to the sea, besides the obligatory desert Ukraine has all the staple biomes for a pokemon region. Russia too but in Siberia, Tuva + the far-eastern regions not in Moscovia which is mostlysnow and forests.

CS GO and DOTA is where the interest is

In terms of anime franchises, the most known one among actual normalfags en masse is Shaman King and even a hypothetical game based on that would probably have microscopic nonexistent sales even assuing it had a PC release of sorts, the whole professional gaming entertainment culture is simply not an established pasttime

Before the war the ukranians overwhelmingly identified as pretty much culturally and ethnically Russian, it was only when the US and Israel funded a coup to overthrow the democratically elected president and put a jew in power that this larp that the ukraine is different from Russia began.

Timeline of hypothetic pokemon game

I'll post the plot idea later as I'm in a hurry right now.
