What mythology has a bug as a main deity? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely intrigued.

I can think of examples like Arachne and Jorogumo, but they are treated more like monsters and the queen of the drow I don't think she is too well known.

Khepri is the most famous insect god. Lots of examples are either too minor to care about if you are approaching them from a culture first or confirming they are actual like insects instead of just word overlap (for example there is an Aztec goddess whose name means obsidian butterfly, but that can be used to mean bat). You might be able to bullshit Psyche despite being just an uplifted normal human with only one real story because butterfly=soul symbolism is popular in general.

I remember there being speculation over whether or not Violet's box legend was going to be a spider, because of some symbol in the announcement trailer that everyone thought was a web.
As much as I love Miraidon, it would've been pretty cool if the legend was indeed some giant violet spider or something like that. Now I really want a Bug-type box legend.

Most arachnid-motif Pokémon are bug-types. True bugs are a kind of small group anyway. Colloquial use of bug has an massive net with even things like snails and slugs qualifying sometimes.
