fighting-type trainers often spar with their mons, and i'm sure they don't just get their asses beat over and over.
so when you fight a fighting-type, you're fighting something that's gonna play by the rules and accept a loss even if it's physically stronger than you. maybe you can win by ring-out or something.
but if you fight a dumb animal, it's just gonna blow your damn head off.
