See that adding the entire roster reduced the game's quality vastly.

Roster in pokemon IS a big problem. They waste a lot of time only setting the pokemon and animations for each. It would be objectively better to get a small roster but full quality. Kind of like in Pokken, afterall, and that way singular pokemon can also shine much better.

I can't get over how there's no pause between the text, the UI, and the move animations, something that should've happened in mainline in Gen 3 or 4 and still hasn't happened even in Gen 9.

That's not even remotely true, they only have to make animations for the new pokemon and reuse old ones, and for attacks fucking lmao, "animations".

I'm one year out of school and it's a pain in the arse to find a job after literally hundreds of handwritten applications. Got a big chunk of change leftover from medical testing money, coasting off of that, living at my mom's, spending free time hanging out with younger friends who are still in school who all are psyched about DP coming out. We talk about the latest Serebii news and every leak is tantalizing, even the fake ones are exciting. Truth is I hated RSE and FRLG and barely played them in the intervening years, but still replayed RB & GS and side-games.

I have a lot of nostalgia from around that time, as it was the only period of time where I really had a group of friends in my whole life. After DP launch, we all played and even bred and traded a bunch but nobody cared to battle. Most of them were tourists and stopped caring by the time Platinum released. That era also coincided with a rough relationship, but at least we played Shinou together - I still have some of her Pokemon with her OT, which she traded me, in my Pearl file. One definitely is nicknamed some loveydovey thing. PBR and Platinum are the peak of Pokemon for me, or at least rivaling Kanto/Johto. Still can't believe the swiss army knife of a Poketch didn't become standard but the damn rotomphone did.
