I dont have a switch so i dont think i will miss the hat, but the mechanic? Yeah. It made so many pokemon viable or usable and added another layer of consideration when it comes to choosing your move, movepool, stats, switch ins, etc.
But the next gimmick MUST be fusions

No. The only thing I'll miss is how good of a concept in theory Terastal was as a game mechanic. I miss Crystal Pokémon and Delta Species more.

I liked it. It let me make any of my bros the star of the show without much planning. I also liked that it gave a decent stab coverage move to many mons who needed it.

It's still not really that oppressive. You're wasting a tera slot on it and all you have to do is bring a hail or sandstorm setter and it's finished.

If it was that oppressive, they'd just nerf it with some bullshit like "Shedninja's crown popped its balloon!"
