if I can give you one advice is to download MultiMC, it's a really good mod launcher for minecraft and it makes things a lot easier to install
the servers last through all of summer until the playerbase dies down enough to close it without much complains, and they'll open again for summer next year completely wiped so everyone always starts from zero at the same time
