Skymin is banned because of Serene Grace Air Slash. Smogon players have been theorizing it would've been okay for OU as far back as Gen 5, but no one ever wants to stick their neck out to bring Togekiss with 127 base speed into standard play.

Even if Sky-min has one of the most dogshit typings imaginable, 60% flinch chance Air Slash coming from a Pokemon faster than Weavile is not going to find any advocates.

Absolute dogshit opinion. Golisopod could've been good if it could set up Swords Dance without being forcibly switched out the next turn. 75/140/90 defenses with that impressive 125 base Attack could've made Golisopod a solid UU Pokemon. If it got a good ability, it could even be OU. Tinted Lens, Intimidate, or Guts could've pushed it over the edge (especially Guts).

That's what it's hypothetically best at. Even if it were brought back, there'd be no reason to use it over Slither Wing since Slither Wing has similar special bulk and way better Attack and Speed in exchange for a hit to Defense. It still far outclasses Golisopod as a First Impression spammer.

Golisopod would probably be PU this gen if it showed up. NU is full of Pokemon that were in UU/OU in Gen 7 and 8. Krookodile, Mew, Raikou, Swampert, Slowbro, Gyarados, Thundurus, Mienshao, Infernape, Lucario, and Magnezone are all in NU this gen.

Hell, Golisopod might not even last in PU since PU has Staraptor, Arcanine, Gastrodon, Grimmsnarl, Milotic, Pawmot, Rotom-Heat, Rotom-Mow, and Toxtricity in it.

Discounting Arceus, Rock and Grass don’t have insane bullshit Pokemon with broken stats, abilities, or movepools.
Chien-Pao is like mini-Zacian but with dual STAB and also 2 priority moves.
Iron Bundle is Ice type Flutter Mane but with better physical bulk than special bulk.
Baxcalibur is like Haxorus if Haxorus had dual STAB, Burn immunity, and got +1 when damage by fire moves. On top of no confusion Outrage and dual STAB multi-strike moves in the same gen as Load Dice being introduced.

I’d say imagine if they had different types, but then remember Zacian, Flutter Mane, and Zekrom exist.

Nah Ogerpon is pretty tame outside of her Fire form. The only extreme part is that it has effective 154 Atk on a 110 Speed Pokemon, which honestly isn’t even that much different from previous regular OU, and it requires a held item too.
Hearthflame was pushed over the edge with better Intrepid Sword after Tera.

Except the biggest problem with Mega Aero is it's movepool, it's best flying stab is fucking Wing Attack and it's other best moves are Stone Miss and Earthquake who don't make contact and waste it's ability

That's a problem with the Pokemon having mismatched movepool and ability, not the type.
