>>55842934We are nearing the 30th anniversary, of which in that almost 30 years, they've released a game a year, by-and-large, for most of those nearly 30 years. At this stage, they need gimmicks, because the basic gameplay doesn't wash with kids that have access to flash and glitz and glam from age 3 on their phones, thus there needs to be some flashy battle trigger to entice children into playing. The premise and basic concept still works with kids, yes. but they need to also ensure a kid who starts playing doesn't drop it for being boring compared to the other shit they're exposed to.
