I think the reason for this "mistake" is that Throh's "uniform" is white, so they figured it'd look better if Sawk's was also white instead of randomly being light blue.

The light blue is suppose to be Sawk's shedded skin used as Gi. Throh is more pale because his skin is red.

May be a stretch but both Amaura's and Aurorus's sails in the games (including spinoffs) and anime don't have the gradual color gradients like the Sugimori art does. This only applies when they're not different colors.

For some reason, Gyarados always had purple eyes instead of red in the anime until Journeys where they were finally "corrected" to red. The Mega always had the correct eye color though.

Journeys corrected the colors of several pokémon. Ditto also used to be pink in the anime until Journeys finally made him purple like the games

Gengar too. A Gengar that appeared in episode 2 of Journeys had the original anime colors of dark purple with orange eyes, but the one Ash caught is a lighter purple with red eyes, closer to the games
