If you have ever played emerald you won't be able to enjoy it fully as it's just the worse hoenn experience but with updated graphics

If you have never touched Hoenn you might enjoy it

There's somethings that annoy me about it like the increased handholding from gen 3 (you get warped around the map a lot) and the fact it doesn't use the Emerald teams for gym leaders which makes a couple of the battles underwhelming, but in terms of a casual playthrough it's pretty alright and it's a good excuse to nab some more legendaries and deoxys

If you set limits to challenge yourself, it is very enjoyable still.
It's biggest flaw that will make you dislike it is thinking too much about what it could have been.
Also, it was a lot more fun when it was current gen, so that might bias me as well.

I did not enjoy Hoenn as much as Kalos, the HMs and giant sea routes bring it down for me. I can see why they made mounts for traversal in future games.

Not a terrible game though.

It's fun but if you're partial to the original then you might be disappointed. They're great games and add a lot of new stuff but they're kind of eh as remakes in some ways and they didn't adapt emerald, only RS. I like them though, I enjoy emerald way more but most people that vehemently hate ORAS are just nostalgiafags.
