They could actually give the Snow type some useful resistances and re-categorize a few of the defensive Ice types into Snow types and it'd be perfect. There's tons of mons that could benefit from this change because Ice is not a beneficial type for a defensive mon.

I think water and ice are separate because ice is defeated by fire, but water defeats fire. Rock/Ground is a weird one though, no clue why they're distinguished.
