While it is true that 2026 will most likely be the year of Gen10, I don't think they want to repeat what happened to PLA and have its life cycle crushed by the release of Gen9.
The later Z-A is released (I don't think it'll be any later than March, it is already incredibly unusual for nothing to come out for Christmas and they can wait this long before it starts being an issue with merch, TCG and the like), the later Gen10 will be pushed I think.
And if they don't want to crush Z-A's life cycle like they did with PLA, while still wanting to release Gen10 in 2026, then it can't be pushed too far into 2025 especially if we consider that Gen10 marketing campaign won't probably start later than around June 2025 (with a likely announcement in late February for Pokemon Day).
