I used serp in my Black 2 playthrough and it was great, in fact it was easily my team's MVP when I went through Black Tower.
Sure it's much harder to use if you're a monkeybrain who just tries to sweep the game with nothing but an overleveled starter, but you could say the same thing about gen 1 Charizard or gen 4 Torterra.

And thus people have to pretend they don't actually like anything. It's a cruel irony that the Internet used to be a place where you could escape this.
