People always mention how the general design philosophy for 'mons has taken a huge turn from an angular, semi-monstrous style to a more rounded, cartoony, chibi-esque style aimed at literal five year olds. I've never seen anyone bring up Ponyta vs Galarian Ponyta during those threads though, which is odd because they're the most blatant examples of this design shift I can think of.
