if not, you really should try it, especially if you already have the roms.

It's the only one of "those" games i really mess with. Played it on and off for a few years now, wasnt really into it when it launched in 2012.

Fastforward to 2024, I cant touch the older games, especially gen 4. so many quality of life improvements, love the game chat, super easy to find, trade, and buy mons with in game currency.

its the only game outside of wow that really feels like a world to me, i love that all the regions are connected and have specific hangout spots/activities that are exclusive to the region. the weather somehow matches my current real world weather, nice touch.

love the legendary pokemon feature where there is only one legendary per region, and only one person can own it and has to accept every battle until he blacks out.

adore the wild and alpha swarms and raid battles, and the default gen 5 sprites for every region really breathes a fresh breath of air into familiar experiences, some of which i had never seen before.

idk is anyone else like this? i havent been interested in whatever gamefreak is doing since legends after falling off for a while.
