I like the streamlining efforts of EV and IV training. Actually playing through the game felt like getting chaperoned to the point of absurdity tho. Like with the literal chaperones blocking routes off. When I think Hawaii I think multiple islands to explore at my leisure and still want a Pokemon game like that. Maybe IGN saying "too much water" actually scared GF.

ORAS has two deep flaws that keep it behind Lillie version and Necrozma version:
Grid movement and being a remake of Ruby and Saphire instead of Emerald meaning the story is actively hampered and yes "the Battle Frontier project has started" which I'll probably hold an eternal grudge on GF over.

PLA beats it for me. But I like Alola. Same can't be said for every other 3D mainline game other than maybe SV, but I dislike Paldea as a region. I have the opposite problem with SM. I like the region, mons and characters a lot, dislike the gameplay

It has catching pokemon, as an open world game it's pretty fucking shit.
There's also less pokemon to catch, abd battling is pretty gimped.

All the side content and exploration in Alola comes from interacting with the people, that's where I think a lot of players goof up and think it's just a hallway from one cutscene to another.

PLA's gameplay is extremely shallow. You praise its gameplay because it's different, not because it's good. PLA is a tech demo that GF charged people $60 for. I say this as someone who was initially thrilled when PLA was announced. The game was just unfinished and wasn't even close to being fully realized.

This only happens in the beginning tutorial and introduction portion. So either you didn't give the game a chance, or you've been trying to do challenge runs and playing that part over and over. If it's the latter, get the instant text hack, it makes it way more bearable.

This is what I suspect causes it. I bought it and did all the other shit people say make it glitch. The worst I saw was some fps chugging, and one time when I was in a narrow tunnel I got repositioned inside the wall for a battle and when the battle was over I fell down into the void and had to quick travel back out.
