Probably just baiting. The only part of it that doesn't sit right with me are the fanficcy story rewrites. The pokémon availability alone shits all over vanilla where 80% of the new mons were postgame only.

He’s including Crystal Sneasal. Admittedly it’ would be more accurate to have a separate one for each version, but the lists made for other regions lumped all regions together as well so he’s being consistent. If anything one of the starters should be in readily available since you start with it.

This. I'm also not a fan of the alterations to base stats and moves, but that's just more my preference when it comes to vanilla+ romhacks.
I'm also not a fan of the dev battles in Yellow Legacy and much prefer to how it was handled in Crystal Legacy.

There's no reason to pick crystal at a glance. A newcomer to the franchise will pick HGSS if they want to play a Johto game because it's more recent and purist will play the original GS release, pretending Crystal fixes distribution problems is as dumb as saying the Orre games make Johtomons readily available in Hoenn.
