Although there is more recent Paldea adventure focus over the plot recently, I feel it is too lacklustre as I'd have preferred more goofy adventures of battling & catching Pokemon.

Yeah. Though I understand why the anime wanted to make a clean state with Horizons, getting rid of nostalgia (e.g TRiO) will push long time TV viewers away which makes up the bulk of it which I presume.

I know the target audience is kids but kids nowadays are already into the social media craze such as Tiktok & YouTube to even care about a mere weekly Pokemon Anime.

There is a Pokemon YouTube channel that posts Horizons related content, but honestly speaking I feel the bulk of the viewers came from teenagers instead lol

It sucks but at least Pokemon games have good replay value, there's a ton of old spin offs and obscure Pokemon media most likely you've not tried everything yet, fanmade content is regularly produced. We're in a better position than fans of other dead series.

This but unironically. The darkest period was 2018-2021 for me. Starting with PLA I at least enjoyed the games. SV were not good but weren't as bad as SwSh so I was willing to accept it
