Also not gonna lie, I have to say they managed these "ancient regional forms" really well. They arent extinct, theyre just nearly extinct and so extremely rare. Which makes them even cooler

But genuinely, why IS it sad?
Literally nothing in Hisui Sliggoo or Goodra's lore state an actual reason. All we know is that this is a form they take when there's sufficient iron deposits in the water and that Goodra's even more clingy then normal.

Neat listing. Wish the hisui pokemon showed up in an actual gen 4 remake. Original Sinnoh lacked a ton of Hokkaido representation that legends made up for.
