If you ask your friend about minecraft, they'll know exactly what video game you're talking about, because they've played it. If you ask your friend about pokemon, they might think of Ash Ketchum or Pikachu, maybe they'll think of GO, but odds are they probably don't even know what SV is.
Maybe the Jews at Microsoft do want to turn Minecraft into a brand, but I doubt they'll have success with that. Minecraft is still just a video game to anyone you ask.
Although this has made me realize something funny - Minecraft costs what, HALF of a main series pokemon game? I still have a minecraft account I bought back in 2012, lol, and it was definitely cheaper back then too. I can still use that minecraft account for multiplayer too whereas pokemons' old GTS and such are all dead. That honestly makes pokemon look fucking sleazy.
