This shit is exactly why there are conspiracy theories on Game Freak "hating" certain Pokemon and there's another one where Pokemon are blatantly weak due to what they're based on.

Meganium shouldn't have to need a ROM hack to not be a subject of mockery, but here we are. If Pokemon like Garganacl can have a three-in-one ability, or a Gouldengo can be immune to all status conditions on top of being Ghost/Steel, Meganium can have Flower Veil or literally anything else that isn't shit and fits the support role that Meganium was forced into instead of Leaf Guard. No exceptions.

Hating a Pokemon because it's weak is one of the dumbest, if not THE dumbest reason to hate a Pokemon.

Then again people adore Eevee and the Eeveelutions despite also being weak (except for Flareon despite having roughly the same exact faults all the other Eeveelutions do). People just want to hate on and shit on weak Pokemon for the sake of it with unpopular Pokemon being easy targets since there'd be no backlash for doing so, and it shows heavily with certain Pokemon.

These Pokemon did nothing wrong. It's Game Freak that fucked over Pokemon like Meganium and Bastiodon to varying degrees.

True, but knowing the community there'd be complaints over how a mega evolution was "wasted" being given to Meganium and not a Pokemon that's's already good in battle like Dragonite. And besides mega evolution won't fix what's actually wrong with Meganium being its movepool and how it's suppose to have a support role that Game Freak for some dumbass reason won't actually fulfill. Sure, Meganium may have gotten Knock Off but it needs more than that, like Game Freak to stop treating it like shit (which is impossible because Game Freak is unsalvageable).

That’s because Gatr is the only Johto starter they don’t actively hate. Meganikum and Typhlosion were intentionally sabotaged to make people hate them so that Venusaur and Charizard look better. They don’t worship Blastiose as much so they weren’t afraid of Feraligatr threatening it, so Gatr is allowed get the bare minimum that most other starters get.
Also water is such a broken type, and water types get so many soft benefits like ice coverage for free, that it’s impossible for a water type with a starter’s BST to ever be a shitmon.

The real problem with this grass line is that, it's unlewdable. Green dinosaur thing with wide hips are unappealing and a turn off for the community. Same with birds and spiders.
