But they didn't when they introduced the new set. In fact they specifically MADE you catch the CT regis set (transferring in others form past games only opens the eleki/drago doors) to awaken the Gigas raid. Ergo, one more at best is the potential. Because they'll want to keep the lore of Gigas' children awakening their daddy.

It should have been Dark. It would fit with the older Regis due to all of them having a weakness to Fighting AND it would make for a neat Darkness/Light duality with Regieleki AND it would fit the ages theme (Ice Age, Stone Age, Iron Age, Dark Ages, Age of Enlightenment)

I have absolutely no idea why they went with Dragon instead

Dragon-types have been sometimes associated with different types of "mystical energy/force" (just look at Ultra Necrozma and Z-Power, as well as Eternatus and the Galar particles for example), so I guess they just wanted a "traditional energy source vs. modern energy source" theme with the two new regis

Regidraco lore was perfect. the actual waste is that he was meant to be a whole dragon golem but to make him similar in design to the others they made up that gigas didnt have enough plates. So the actual problem is the inverse of what youre saying

the dragon one is cool if it's a giant stationary dragon skull that opens up to reveal the Regi inside when it attacks. Basically a living core that uses the giant skull as a shell/conch. In fact someone made a gen II style sprite of just that but I don't have it

Regis and elemental golems are my favorite thing ever. I'd pay $60 for a game if the new game had a single new regi.
