Can’t even be Game Freak’s Johto hate because the Pokémon it’s worse than is another johto pokemon that got an evo that’s actually great in vgc. So they just hate Stantler in particular

The dex cut was because they knew they were approaching 1000 and putting in every Pokemon was going to be unsustainable. Pretty soon it's going to be at 1100 and then 1200 and so on. They had to draw the line somewhere and decided Gen 8 was the time.
