I am older millennial anon (boomer, for your kids) and my daughter is soon turning the age when it's time to leave home and become a professional pokemon trainer. I would hate if she had to struggle with a Caterpie or Rattata, like the other eight-years old youngsters with absent parents, but I am not going to sell a kidney and get into debt to pay for some overpriced Grass/Fire/Water type that the nepotism babies get. So I decided to catch a pokemon for her birthday myself. Any other parents that can give me an advice what is a good first pokemon for a kid and how to catch it?
