What matters is if the pokemon and characters looks good or shit.
To me, Black and White still has the worst designed pokemon of all time, and the characters are also mostly garbage too.
SV is a close second, and SS is almost as bad.
Gen 1~4 all had varying degrees of great pokemon and characters.
Gen 6 had shitty characters, but the megas were an amazing addition. I would rank it 4th worst.
Gen 7 had amazing characters, and the idea of regional forms solves a lot of design problems that gen 5 is guilty of.
