>>56006317Traveler has, at bare minimum, a heavily implied Groudon/Kyogre happening and a Sinnoh happening with the Azure flute. I don't see it ending for at least another 7 chapters if it's rushed.
>throne of mudIt has potential but it feels like it's squandering it between politicking, muh regulations, and an abysmal update schedule that does not help its pacing. If you've seen memes about not being allowed to catch "tier four pokemon without a loicense", it's one of those fics
>reset bloodlinesShit story with some good moments, the other anons kind of went over it already
>symbioticThe plot boils down to "ash was raised by pokemon and can speak to them". it started nice and had some neat moments, but it's been going in circles lately with the whole "oh no they'll figure out I can talk to pokemon" schtick for several chapters now, which equates to years due to the poor update rate. I haven't kept up on updates between that and the current arc being a big happening with team rocket attacking a city for multiple chapters. The story had a bit of edge to it, but it hasn't gone overboard quite yet. It's also a rewrite.
>>56006327I think that a part of it is that the vast majority of pokemon fics are either journey ones or ash ones, so most are ashfag shit. Meanwhile, journeyfic authors feel the need to continuously keep going and going and going until they run out of steam so they're usually unfinished.
As far as "classic" pokemon fics, I can think of a few, for better or worse
>The Road You Choose/Mystery Of Aura series (a bit edgy but fun, followed ashime/movies for a while)>Ashes of the Past (had at least a couple of imitators as previously mentioned like reset bloodlines; the same can be said for a few other Saphroneth fics)>The Sun Soul (one of the earlier edgefag fics, think Pokemon dying in battle, gore like Misty's introduction involving a rocket grunt beheading, wars, etc.)>whatever fucking garbage started the "betrayal" trend
