It’s awful considering Hop uses far more interesting Pokémon during his off battles.
Hop - Toxel and Silicobra in addition to Cramorant
Hop - Trevenant, Heatmor, and Boltund in addition to Snorlax
As much as I like the idea of Hop reusing Pokémon that he used in those fights, Snorlax is an overused boss mon and Cramorant is suited for the mid game but not beyond that.

I feel like someone at GF was just looking at past teams and they just gave Hop a Snorlax because Red, Barry, and Kukui used Snorlaxes too. I don't think Snorlax was chosen for Hop for any good reason in particular when it's filling the same niche as Dubwool. Snorlax is just the strong trainer mon. You can remove Snorlax and the team would improve a lot.
