ended up liking all the cool critter designs, ended up getting soulsilver and enjoyed collecting what i could (though as a kid i thought if you fucked up the ilex forest puzzle you were just prevented from continuing the game so i was too scared of fucking that up until i got an action replay with walk thru walls)
the fact totodile was my starter in PMD and was available in SS was also badass
as for why i'm still a fan, idunno. i don't bother with mainline titles often unless im just replaying one out of nostalgia but i also barely check out fan projects either since the pokemon format tends to limit a lot of options in RPG unit customization (which is what i like in RPGs). i think im just autistic about the creatures really
