>>56001001>being new didn't stop the gen 8 mons from having gmax forms (aka mega evolutions but big) in their gen.Because G-Max followed a different implementation philosophy. Gen 6 had the smallest debut roster to date because they wanted to put emphasis on old Pokemon receiving new Mega Evolutions, something furthered with ORAS with a point made that only a special Pokemon from Kalos like Diancie would get Mega privileges at the time. G-Max meanwhile, for the debuting roster, was made with the express intention of complimenting and in some cases "completing" their design concepts. The Alcremie line is probably the most standout example of this, going from a blob of cake mix, to a blob of whipped cream, but then it requires G-Max in order to fully realize its cake motif. This came to the net detriment of some Galar mons though, because without G-Max, their designs are left unfulfilled and unfinished until they get the Duraludon treatment with a crossgen evolution.
>>56001008How is it weak logic? Wouldn't it be strange if Delphox and Chesnaught got proper Mega Evolutions, but Greninja was still stuck with the Bootleg Mega in the form of Battle Bond? Or even worse, in order to be consistent, they forced Delphox and Chesnaught to ALSO be stuck with Battle Bond?
