>>56019784Was going to be snarky but if you don't know, you don't know: they make the concept art first, but the "sugimori style drawing," the one they use to advertise a pokemon and put in the pokedexes, is usually finalized last because they may still make changes to a pokemon's design all the way up to release. This is true for a great deal of games, official art for the public and marketing often comes later or is still being worked on even after a game hits the market. It's obvious this stage is rushed with a lot of Pokemon now, with some looking obviously like they were quickly drawn over the model. They follow the topology in a precise and soulless way that you don't get drawing something free hand. It's a quicker cheaper method.
