Wasn't that one of the advices in the book "Think and make yourself rich"? or whatever name is in english, here is "Piense y hagase rico"
That book literally has an entire chapter about channeling your horny energy, fall in love with a woman (or something, anything really), and basically use your love for your muse as means to an end. It even says to the girls "women, if your men cheat on you is because you're ugly as fuck. Try to light the fire a bit".

Good book, I recommend it.

I think you could get away with the energy effect if it was ONE. But you could release this card in the next set of 2024 with two and call it power creep.
But I think the card art and effect are pretty unique and it would for sure bring Emily energy into the feeling of a match. AKA overwhelming power. Would want to play against for sure.

What's really the kicker that it's an energy ramp card without any special conditions/limitations.
Energy ramp is super important/sensitive especially in early game. Take the Supporter card, Geeta, for example:
>Search your deck for up to 2 Basic Energy cards and attach them to 1 of your Pokemon. Then, Shuffle your deck. During this turn, your Pokemon can't attack. (This includes Pokemon that come into play this turn.)

Effectively (going second when you can attack on your first turn) Emily could throw down a basic with a three cost energy attack that does tons of damage, and instantly vaporize most things after playing one supporter.
Geeta's card ensures the great energy ramp of pulling cards from your deck has a drawback of not being able to attack that turn.

And technically there's a Limitation, you can only receive the benefit from the "destroy a Stadium" effect. And you can't play the card unless the enemy has a Stadium on the field. So technically you can't play it when going first on Turn 1 anyway cause the enemy won't have a Stadium on the field.

Given that it has to be your opponents stadium (not yours) is a good modifier.
Your opponent could take turn 1 to play a stadium (player taking the very first turn of the game can't attack or play supporters, but can play stadiums), and then your 1st turn (second in the order) play the supporter and attack. So, one energy would be good.
It would be very interesting if a card like this was introduced. Depending on how much energy it gave, players would be terrified to play a stadium on the first turn.

It's fairly balanced given you have to summon all the pieces from the discard pile and once defeated it pays out 3 prize cards. Kind of difficult to consistently pull off.
Mewtwo V-Union is very fun.

Just the overall type of the attacking card is applied. For example, if Silas's Volbeat used Firefly Shock, the outgoing attack type is only Grass.
The multi-energy prerequisite is either flavor or increased difficulty in powering up that attack given the chances of the player drawing into the right energy.

I’m not going to sue the generator because I don’t have any worthwhile artwork of Alex to use for it. The idea behind that card is that it’s something with an offensive use like the Team Flare Hyper Gear. Realistically something like that would probably be an Ace Spec card as it is extremely versatile and would be extremely spammable without the Ace Spec restriction. But it’s Alex, do you expect him to play fair?

Invest a lot of time into showing how they become strong and the characteristics that facilitate that. Team composition is also really important, if your OC is strong, they need to have a team that backs that up. Don’t give them a team of shitmons, unironically look at Smogon and see how you can translate those strategies into “anime logic” so that what happens appears feasable. You don’t want to end up with an Ash’s Pikachu situation where your OC’s shitmons end up BTFOing actually good Pokemon. Emphasis on the strategy part, the things your OC does in battle have to display their strength without also venturing into plot armor territory. TLDR basically just show HOW and WHY they are strong.

This song kind of reminds me of Azelie, specifically her depiction in the Gaiden where she’s characterized as somewhat enigmatic and “You” are suddenly captivated by her. This depicts an outdoor scene as opposed to the nightclub but I still think that it fits the vibe very well, especially since both take place during a trip. I guess the twist ending of the song with the two dead bodies kind of shows off her sneering side?

I like the increased chances at coinflips. It can really create some interesting situations especially if you can do it at will given you have the cards to spare.
I would have to say that it's fairly OP, but it's just interesting enough I would really want to see it play tested.
You only take the result of the next coin flip right?
Just a few thoughts I collected with cards that could combo.
Hypno could consistently steal strong moves from the opponents for a very cheap cost of 1 energy.

I know right? Not even the "already damaged" condition makes that sound fair. Cause I'm sure there's a bunch of ways to cheese that like having another Pokemon splash damage onto their Benched Pokemon so they all come in with a damage counter on and then just 1-tap them with Tyrannical Tail. Jesus christ what are they smoking up there at TPC.

Brief cobble update Green Mesa is now Greener Mesa, almost gotten to a point I am satisfied, just waiting for the literal grass to grow.

Admittedly I am kind of probing to see if a lucky U-Turn is possible or not. I personally just have difficulty envisioning that thing getting a lucky grab off. It’s supposed to be one of those anime only moves like that Dragonite parrying Charizard’s Seismic Toss. Plus the main villain of Act 4 has a Mega Tyranitar so better to have this conversation now. Iron Head admittedly is just something I think is cool because that flat head looks like a perfect battering ram and sending in Dragapult against a Dark Pulse user is a worst case scenario as even if it can dance around that motherfucker firing off Darts/Pump/Bullet Seed the risk is high and it’s better to just attempt a pivot into Archaludon. Iron Head actually leaves it vulnerable to getting Crunched, just like Dragon Rush. Imagine getting caught in that thing’s mouth.

Not entirely true, I'm wrapping up the Gaiden episode as we speak. A few short stories I can shit out in an afternoon, and then we can finally start making some real plot progression again.
This next episode looks like it will clock in at about 12,000 words; which has certainly surprised me--I actually thought I was on the low end again.

Personally I enjoy them talking through the mechanics of how a move like Pursuit behaves. A HUGE amount of pokemon is actually using your imagination since the games offer very little visual feedback to what your pokemon is actually...doing. So part of the fun of writing/Drawing Pokemon OC is that you can now decide what a pokemon using Pursuit looks like. Or the mechanics of how a U-turn is recalling the pokemon using it.

My first chapter of my fic was like 15k words and I am probably gonna follow that guideline. Supposedly the average words per chapter in fiction is like 8k. If you mean "per instance where you bother to site down and work on the fic proper" I usually aim for 1-2k words maybe at the minimum.

A fair concern. I would say it really depends on what you intend to do with that character. I would say give a character bio that fits within the usual 2000 character post limit. Who they are, what they're about, what kind of team they use, and maybe a story hook or two you can branch out from to really sell us on the character's identity.
Ignore smogon posters, ignore grumpy ex-girlfriends. They're our heel personalities and they take kayfabe very seriously.

How would you indicate that a Pokémon isn't talking to their trainer but communicating in animalish noises, with the trainer interpreting them like a code? I don't want to just write "[name] understood the noises to mean xyz" as that feels a bit ham-fisted but I don't want it to read like the Pokémon is actually talking.

The ranger muttered the words to himself as he translated, mapping out the plains in his head. Where would he shelter if he was caught out here? That is, assuming this person had any sense.

I've written more - annoyingly I've got the first and last section and not the middle - but that's the relevant part.

Depends on the situation. Personally, I go like this:

I try to put them in a normal conversation. I kind of cheat on this because I can overexposure with the human character.

I feel this is also cheating because I'm translating the hand signs, but at least the discussion can be understood.

And if I just write dialogue between Pokémon, I write a paragraph saying:

I know it kinds of breaks the immersion, but also is easy to guide the action to the next scene.

I have a tunnel bored into the cliffside going from one end to the other, could expand it to have space for art and some stands. Just lmk how tall a space you want and I'll adjust it.
Also I am once again asking for the houses to have some interior deco to actually look like houses, anything small and simple works, the stuff over at the stands and the houses on the other side are great, I'd love to see some of that in the other bits as well.

fluxanon nominated me to do fankids last thread so i'm delivering. i'd imagine between having her father's sharper features, hair color, and a stern yet no less charismatic demeanor she immediately calls to mind her father. she probably rejects both of her parents failings, thinks her mom's vigilantism, even if well intentioned, is inefficient and self serving, while dad's ends-justify-the-means approach to things lacks basic humanity and reeks of entitlement. however, i think it's this sort of rebelliousness and sense of justice that ultimately makes her more like her mother at her core, and i think this is best reflected by the inclusion of a harness in her design. not overtly sexy like the way phos shows skin, but like, even if people just wear them as accessories now they're still bdsm gear.

on the opposite side of things the son's hair color and the boldness of his grin clue you in to the fact that he can't be anyone other than phos' kid. the shape of his eyes are also moreso meant to be reminiscent of moms, while not as big the tareme gives a sorta softness/friendliness to his face. i think between his passion and distaste for people who don't try to live every day to the fullest he's actually more like his dad beneath that rockstar look he's got. aspires to embody the best of both parents, with mom's boldness and independence and dad's drive and ambition

sorry if none of this seems well thought out, i'll admit i didn't dwell too long on it lmao. you can just ignore the little bios if you don't care for em honestly. and i can hit the drawing board yet again if the designs don't strike your fancy

I aspire to be able to imprint on someone this much someday.

This does get me thinking about why so many people in the Pokemon world have weird hair colors, even "professionals" like Steven and Franco. Do genetics just give you crazy hair colors, or is hair dye just very commonplace in the Pokemon world? Weirdly enough, I never considered giving Alex or any other character in his story crazy hair, and frankly, I don't think I will.

Pretty much this, most people with a focus on actual design knows this stuff. Definitely makes it easier to tell if a character would a type you're interested in cause some people even unknowingly lean into these tropes via hair color.

Not really, the bulk of the Gaiden episodes I had planned out are behind us now--all that's left is a heist story with no real urgency for its release date and an epilogue after the main story is completed. Any other side stories would be about as long as the average pastebin read (and I know I keep saying I'll make the episodes shorter but this time I really mean it).
Nope, the next big release will actually advance the plot again.
