I played SWSH, and I have to say, it was an underrated gem.
Same with BDSP; taking an oldschool classic and updating it for modern audiences while fixing the HP bars and HM bloat sure was fun.

Biggest issue is the forced exp share without having rebalanced levels for it. Other than that it's a straight HD remaster and upgrade over DP.
I'm currently playing original Pearl and without excess team shuffling or hardly any exp gained from wild battles, I seem to be tracing along similar levels to the gyms and NPCs. In Brilliant Diamond I always seemed to be overleveled for every gym.

BDSP is in Unity, so it's pretty easy to mod out any minor balance problem you have with it. If you don't bounce off the art style like most people, it's basically perfect. If you do, it's still not impossible to fix but it's a lot more difficult.
