Yes, they don't even make new trade evolutions anymore. PLA gave the precedent to remove trade evos but it might stay as a relic of the past.

In fangames, it should be. In official games, it can still be speculated.
I mean, in a fangame you are usually playing solo or with a VERY small niche group. Trade evos should be removed at that point.
Meanwhile, GF still has the whole online thing going on, so trade evos are piss easy to get.

You can tell the intention was for people to trade their pokemon one way. I'll give you my haunter I raised if you give me your kadabra.
You're not supposed to immediately turn around and be like "ok now give it back now that we got that taken care of", you're supposed to raise your friend's pokemon instead. The trouble is no one wants to do that because you're attached to your own pokemon, so you trade back, meaning it was nothing but a waste of time

There should be trade mid-evos
All evos should have both a level and additional requirement
Evolved Pokemon shouldn't exist in the wild

The actual interaction was more along the lines of going to my mom and explaining what had happened. My mom telling me first and foremost it isn´t a big deal, that it was ultimately just a game and to not count on someone´s word when you could have taken steps to avoid needing to trust someone.

Sort of? I mean back when I was a kid and Pokemon Colosseum was still considered a new game, I beat the main story and a friend of mine said he needed My Espeon/Umbreon for his Dex Entry in his ruby but after we did the trades he said he needed to breed them with a ditto to get an eevee but then proceeded to never give them back to me. I waited for a couple weeks and when I asked him about it he told me he traded them to another friend of his. I was so fucking mad.

I traded my swampert for a torchic egg back in the Ruby/Sapphire days because even though I knew of breeding, I didn't know how to get a starter without ditto, and Emerald/FRLG hadn't come out yet. I miss that fucker some 20+ years later should have never given it away.
