The problem with Pokemon is that it isn't realistic. We can enjoy the fun fluffy adventure feel where people mainly fight with nonlethal attacks and best each other in tactics skirmishes, but a truly engagin Pokemon game would have realistic consequences for Pokemon moves and show what the Pokemon world would actually be like. Soldiers riding into battle on Zebstrikas, people working with Zangoose to assasinate people. If other RPGs with cute artstyles like Persona can feature horrifying themes, Pokemon can do it too.
