>>56031380It's not that people don't like them, they just don't have anywhere near as vocal a fanbase as Ash. Between the damn near 30 years of screentime, people who love him out of nostalgia or weirdos who keep watching a kids show there's tons of vocal people in his corner.
But this anime was coming hot, or I guess, cold off the heels of Journeys which was bleeding viewership (on top of the series' gradual bleeding of viewership over the years). On top of that, TCPi fucked it's viewership by delaying it until Pokemon Day in the US whereas by that point many territories had already had the show for several weeks/months.
I haven't watched it, nostalgia from growing up with Ash was the only reason my autistic ass could watch the ashnime, but the people who watch seem to find them adequate, but you won't find die-hards until the anime has had time to grow and truly flourish like the ashnime, it's Charizard vs Magmar tier moment.
