Maybe I lack creativity, but I struggle to come up with other job themes for future starters.

I like >>56041463 idea of first responders though. Police, Firefighter, and maybe Paramedic.
Grass could be a dog/wolf/werewolf sort of police dog.
Fire could be a snake that resembles the caduceus.
Water could be an elephant that uses its snout as a fire hose.

Samurott and Empoleon look closer to Sea Lions and Penguins than Emperors and Samurais because their theme doesn't retiredly hijack their design, while the newer ones are nearly all blatant mascotfaggotry that are anatomically closer to their job than to their animal inspiration.

Admittedly Rillaboom is the least offensive of its gen but that does not excuse ot. A proper comparison would be if Rillaboom had a drum integrated into its chest. Yes, it's still hijacked to some degree. Gorillas are already humanoid-ish, which doesn't help the case of Galar when the other two are already very humanoid.

Yes. If he can manipulate any plant, why does he need the drum? Do they all find identical drums? It's not a body part at all. Is it's reason for muscles all meant to just stand there and beat drums? There were better ways to incorporate and execute this concept, let's just say.

Which one are you referring to? Also, good job avoiding the question. Regardless, the principle of pokemon is that they are species. The more of them that are blatant humanoids that act human running around in a species fashion, the less believable the world is.
