Well, take Emerald, cut the FPS in half, remove two facilities from the BF and make them all worse, split the encounter tables into tedious time based gimmicks and postgame gimmicks, add a retarded amount of power creep, make the dungeon design drastically worse with fewer puzzles, you have Platinum.

I don't think it personally is, but then again my hands are larger than some mace clubs. I feel cramped even on the 3DS XL at times.
At least you can hack it to put Twilight Menu and hShop on it, so you can then play the other games for free later on, when you feel up to trying the others.
