I am currently preparing for a full playthrough of shining pearl only using mons I can get without trading. My faverite mons are the regis but I am not experinced using them with their forced HAs. Generally I would want to use them postgame as my battle tower team. I do not care at all about the length of my winning streak, just want to make the most out of my 3 favourite mons.

For registeel I use a classic cure + chestorest set with dark claw for coverage. Light metal is afwul for tower but there are at leat a few opponents using low kick.

For regirock I am unsure. Sturdy makes it counter the sheer cold spamming walrein but besides that it is very unlikely it will ever k.o.ed at full hp. So I am thinking about using a set that does not max it defensive potential. Is a rock polish regirock any good? It could try to actually flinch thinks with rock slide that way but since weakness policy is not in the game I dunno if the set is worth running. Other than that i could may hp alonside attack, so that sturdy could help against special moves. Is regirock at all viable as a paraflincher with thunderwave + rockslide after paralysis nerf? With a tankish set I would like to forego any boosting moves it has.

Regice would be the most probelmatic. By itself it would actually be the strongest of the 3 I think but how much will using hail on it hinder the other 2 regis? I am thinking modest with maxed hp and special attack. Moves: blizzard, thunderbolt, hail and protect. It would get the 1 leftovers allowed for the whole team.

And is an offensively plaed hail snow cloak articuno with brightpowder good? Would use timid max sp. attack and speed with blizzard, freeze dry, roost and hail.

Btw. I choose pearl because I think birds with HA are better than cats with HA.
