Is there any Pokémon media where the Pokémon are depicted as more like equals to their trainers rather than simply being pets? I've always hated and felt uncomfortable with the power dynamic that exists in Pokémon. I cannot fathom a trainer having a meaningful relationship with their Pokémon with this type of relationship dynamic.
